2018 Annual Meeting

Theme: Race, Ethnicity, and Nationalism in Global Perspective

The 2018 annual meeting took place January 4-7, 2018, and was held in the Marriott Wardman Park, Omni Shoreham, and Hilton Washington hotels. The theme was "Loyalties," and outgoing president Tyler Stovall presented his address: "White Freedom and Our Lady of Liberty." This year was the first year the AHA held "Professional Pathways," a space for a range of events organized by Career Diversity for Historians. This meeting also featured our first-ever undergraduate poster session.
