Jeremy C. Young

Communications and Marketing Manager

Jeremy C. Young is the communications and marketing manager at the AHA. A historian of emotional experience, political culture, and social movements, he is the author of The Age of Charisma: Leaders, Followers, and Emotions in American Society, 1870–1940 (Cambridge Univ. Press, 2017). Prior to joining the AHA in 2020, he was an assistant professor of history at Dixie State University in St. George, Utah, where he also directed the Institute of Politics and Public Affairs. His writing and commentary have appeared in a variety of publications, including the Washington Post, Newsweek, the Chronicle of Higher Education, and on NPR’s The Takeaway.
