ANNOUNCES
The James Henry Breasted Prize FOR 2010

Established in 1985, this prize, named in honor of James Henry Breasted, a pioneer in ancient Egyptian and Near Eastern history and president of the Association in 1928, is offered for the best book in English in any field of history prior to CE 1000. The prize has been endowed by Joseph O. Losos, a longtime member of the Association.

Only books of a high scholarly nature should be submitted. Research accuracy, originality, and literary merit are important factors.

Books published between May 1, 2009, and April 30, 2010, are eligible for the 2010 award.

One copy must be received by each of the following committee members. Entries must be postmarked by or on MAY 15, 2010 to be considered for the 2010 prize. Entries will not be returned.

Please Note: The deadline for submission of entries is May 15, 2010. Entries will not be returned. Recipients will be announced at the January 6-9, 2011 AHA Annual Meeting in Boston.

IMPORTANT! EACH ENTRY MUST BE CLEARLY LABELED "Breasted AWARD ENTRY."
