 To facilitate scholars from various timezones, there will be two groups (same workshop, different time).

Group 1:   11:oo am Amsterdam time (+UTC 2) for participants from Europe, Africa, Asia & Australia
Group 2:   19.00 pm Amsterdam time (+UTC 2) for participants from the American continent

The workshop,organized by GIRES, the Global Institute for Research, Education and Scholarship, offers a step-by-step training in remote and in-person interviewing techniques.

 

The aim is to explain the preparations, such as contacting the interviewees, the legal and ethical issues, the recording equipment.Dr. Karatzas will guide you through the different techniques of interviewing and will cover most possible scenarios and prepare you for your project.Dr. Karatzas will engage in role playing himself, drawing examples from his long experience of different types of interviewees, styles of engagement and propose ways of overcoming the difficulties.
