The Pacific Coast Branch of the American Historical Association is pleased to announce our call for nominations for our book, dissertation, and article prizes, our Pacific Historical Review prizes, and our PCB-AHA Presidents' Graduate Student Travel Awards. Our scholarly awards include the W. Turrentine Jackson Award for Best Dissertation on the 20th Century American West; the Norris and Carol Hundley Award for Best Book by any scholar residing within our membership area; the Pacific Coast Branch Book Award for Best First Book by any scholar residing within our membership area; the W. Turrentine Jackson Prize to a graduate student for the best essay on a subject within the Pacific Historical Review's fields of concentration; and the Louis Knott Koontz Memorial Award for the most deserving contribution to the Pacific Historical Review.

 

The deadline for submissions for prizes is April 1. The deadline for Graduate Student Travel Award proposals is April 30.
