The American Philosophical Society Library invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship beginning as early as January 2018 to work on a special bibliography and biography project. As part of its 275th anniversary celebration, the APS Library is launching a major project to create a master bibliography and research tool for all publications of past APS Members. In addition to the bibliography, the fellow will survey APS holdings to identify gaps in the collections related to Member publications and help develop an acquisitions strategy.

 

The ideal candidate will have expertise in book history, early American history, the history of science, and/or intellectual history. In addition, the successful candidate will be highly organized, have knowledge of print and electronic reference resources, and be comfortable working across a variety of disciplines and subjects. Applicants must have Ph.D. in hand by start date of fellowship.

 

Salary: $45,000 per year + benefits.
