Historic Deerfield, Inc. invites applications from college juniors and seniors to take part in an intensive, nine-week Summer Fellowship Program in History and Material Culture.  Undergraduates who will be enrolled as either juniors or seniors as of January 1, 2015 are eligible for seven openings in the program, which is designed for undergraduate students in American Studies, Architecture, Archeology, Art and Art History, Design, History, Preservation and Museum Studies.

Since 1956, more than 425 students have taken part in this program that serves as an introduction to museum work, material culture, New England history, and primary research with original documents.

This unique residential living-and-learning opportunity takes place at Historic Deerfield, in Deerfield, Massachusetts.  Each Fellow receives a non-monetary fellowship valued at $7,500 that covers tuition, room and board and field trip expenses.  A limited number of monetary grants are awarded to students with demonstrated need to help cover lost summer income.

The 2015 program begins June 8 and ends August 10.  Applications are now being accepted online at www.historic-deerfield.org/sfp.  The deadline to apply is Monday, February 9, 2015. Notifications of acceptances will be announced in early March.
