Six AHA Members Elected to 2019 Class of American Philosophical Society

The AHA happily congratulates six of its memberswho were recently elected to membership in the American Philosophical Society: David Cannadine, Annette Gordon-Reed, Martin Jay, David M. Rubenstein, Patrick Spero, and Romila Thapar. Since 1743, only 5,676 members have been elected to the APS, the oldest learned society in the United States. APS members represent the humanities, social sciences, the arts, and professions, and are leaders and in public and private affairs.
