Written and reported by Cherokee journalist Rebecca Nagle and also featuring Ned Blackhawk (Yale Univ.), Maggie Blackhawk (New York Univ.), and Phil Deloria (Harvard Univ.), First America examines the founding of the United States, how democracy and empire developed together, and how today’s political moment is 250 years in the making while foregrounding the experiences and actions of Native people in the American story.
