Each year, approximately 25 scholars are selected as Members in the School of Social Science at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, NJ. A completed doctorate or equivalent is required by the application deadline. Memberships are awarded at both the junior and senior levels. Members are expected only to pursue their own research and participate in the seminars. The theme for 2022-23 is "Climate Crisis Politics." Applications outside the theme are also welcomed.
