Event Description
The Holocaust Educational Foundation of Northwestern University (HEFNU) announces the Lessons & Legacies of the Holocaust Inaugural Emerging Scholars Conference, convened in cooperation with the Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Clark University in Worcester, MA, USA. This conference serves as the sixth in the Strassler Center’s series of graduate student conferences. Dates: November 6-6, 2025.
Keynote Speaker: Sarah Casteel, Carleton University
HEFNU and the Strassler Center invite paper proposals from Emerging Scholars – scholars who are ABD through those who earned their PhD in 2023 or later – in any discipline in the field of Holocaust Studies. We aim to convene scholars working in different languages, disciplines, discourses, and methodologies for intellectual exchange, networking, and mentorship. We invite proposals on any aspect of the Holocaust, its causes, history, memory, and representation, including comparative approaches. The conference language is English.
HEFNU and the Strassler Center will cover the costs of accommodation and all conference meals for scholars accepted to the program. Travel subsidies may be available.
