The new Contingencies: A Journal of Global Pedagogy welcomes submissions in areas including but not limited to the following:


  • The classroom space as an intersection between students of different national origins
  • Multilingualism as a mode of instruction
  • Teaching intersections, appropriations, and divergences across cultures
  • Modelling hybridity
  • Interdisciplinarity as a mode of Global teaching and study
  • Teaching research methods in a global context
  • Teaching texts in translation
  • Globalizing curriculum and disciplines
  • Replacing the nation-state as the fundamental principle of curricular division
  • The dialectic between nationalism and globalism/extra-nationalism
  • Teaching place in a global context
  • Engaging study-abroad experiences
  • Teaching online across national and linguistic boundaries
  • Global experiential learning
  • Addressing cultural difference without essentializing cultures
  • Travel as education rather than consumption
  • Teaching concepts like “the other”
  • The role of technology in connecting learners globally

Submissions for the first journal issue should be sent according to the guidelines in the link. Submission deadline to be considered for publication in the first issue extended to March 29, 2020.  There is no fee for publishing in the journal.
