William L. Clements Library 2020 Research Fellowships

The William L. Clements Library at the University of Michigan holds a rich array of primary sources on early American history from 1492 into the 20th century, including books, manuscripts, pamphlets, maps, prints, photographs, and more. With collections particularly strong on military history, gender and ethnicity, the American Revolution, Native American history, slavery and antislavery, the Civil War, travel and exploration, cartography, social reform movements, the Caribbean, and much more, research at the Clements is far-reaching. The Library offers both short-term and long-term fellowships as well as a new digital fellowship to support the digitization of one of our collections. Applications are due by January 15, 2020.
