Science, technology, local bodies of knowledge and empire in the Atlantic world from the 15th to 19th centuries

One of the richest recent fields of research in the history of the sciences is to show the importance not only of European imperial projects but also the complex interactions between European science and technology and the knowledge and practices of other continents and cultures. More and more studies are being written by academics in South America, North America and Europe, which discuss the encounter between different bodies of knowledge and practices in the context of the Atlantic world and their role in modern science. For this special issue of the journal, we call on investigators to send us their articles in order to encourage a discussion of these new perspectives and disseminate these new ideas.
