Event Description
This informational webinar will orient attendees to the current legislative and policy landscape for post-secondary history education, nationally and in the states. Presentations and Q&A will prepare supporters of honest history to engage in public education and communication. After an overview of key features in recent legislative initiatives impacting history education, presenters from the AHA and PEN America will discuss how historians can help shore up public support for higher education and honest history. Introduced by James Grossman (American Historical Assn.), this event features Brendan Gillis (American Historical Assn.), Katherine Brausch (Univ. of Michigan and American Historical Assn.), Jeremy C. Young (PEN America), Julia Brookins (American Historical Assn.).
