The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is offering a summer seminar for K-12 teachers on The Political Theory of Hannah Arendt at the University of California at Davis from June 26 to July 29, 2016.  It will focus on Arendt’s philosophical perspective on violence in politics, how dramatic advances in science and technology changed relationships between humans and the natural world, and conditions of democratic rule and the scope and significance of global human rights. The seminar is open to full-time and part-time classroom teachers and librarians in public, charter, independent, and religiously affiliated schools, as well as home schooling parents. Other K-12 school personnel, including administrators, substitute teachers, and classroom professionals, are also eligible to participate. Information and application guidelines are available at http://wwwrohan.sdsu.edu/~arendt/wp/
