Call for Applications | USIH-Modern Intellectual History Early Career Workshop

The Society for U.S. Intellectual History and Modern Intellectual History are excited to announce the inaugural USIH-MIH Early Career Workshop. This one-day, in-person workshop will take place in Boston on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, in conjunction with the 2024 USIH Conference. Participants in the workshop are also eligible to participate in the main conference proceedings, and they will receive a waiver of their conference fee.

The workshop will be organized around three themes: knowledge and beliefarchives and intellectual history, and political economy. In advance of the workshop, participants will share an article-length work-in-progress related to any one of these themes, broadly defined. Small working groups consisting of authors and a commentator will then offer substantive feedback on these works-in-progress. We are grateful to our workshop leaders, Audrey Wu Clark and Brandon R. Byrd, for guiding this exciting new initiative.

All early-career scholars working in the field of U.S. intellectual history are welcome and encouraged to apply. All manuscripts presented at the workshop will be evaluated for submission to MIH. Selected work will be solicited for further review and publication. Proposals are due 15 April 2024, details here: https://s-usih.org/2023/07/cfp-usih-mih-early-career-workshop/
