W. Stull Holt served as executive secretary of the American Historical Association from 1963–64. He taught at the University of Washington, and served as a professor and chair of the history department, retiring as professor emeritus. He earned his PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 1926 with the dissertation, “Treaties Defeated by the Senate, 1789-1901.” Holt passed away October 13, 1981.
