The 98th annual meeting was held on December 27–30, 1983, at the Hyatt Regency and the Sheraton-Palace Hotel in San Francisco. AHA President Philip D. Curtin (Johns Hopkins University) gave the presidential address, “Depth, Span and Relevance,” at the General Meeting on Wednesday, December 28.
