An NPR article by Suzanne Perez featured Andrew Denning’s essay “Deep Play? Video Games and the Historical Imaginary,” which appeared in the American Historical Reviews March 2021 issue. In Perez’s article, Denning discussed historically themed video games such as Call of Duty: World War II, their potential applications in teaching history, and ways the public might use them to connect with history.
