AHA Members and Staff Published in The Public Historian May 2024 Issue

Sarah Weicksel, AHA director of research and publications, and AHA members Amanda Moniz (Smithsonian Inst.) and Hilary N. Green (Davidson Coll.) each had articles published in a special issue of The Public Historian (May 2024),  on “Material Culture as a Methodology for the History of Philanthropy.” Moniz served as guest editor and wrote the introduction for the issue. Weicksel authored “Mining Charity: Material Culture and Philanthropy on the Comstock Lode,” and Green wrote “Teaching Black Educational Philanthropy Through Photography, 1863–1920s.”
