TAMU History Conference

Call for Papers

The History Graduate Student Organization at Texas A&M University is proud to announce that our 12th annual graduate and undergraduate student conference will occur on February 18th and 19th, 2022. Pulitzer Prize-winning author Dr. W. Caleb McDaniel (Rice University), and award-winning author Dr. Amy J. Rutenberg (Iowa State University), will be our distinguished speakers.

This year's theme is "Exploring the Margins of History."  We welcome papers on underrepresented individuals and groups, as well as events, conflicts, movements, theories, innovations, inventions, environments, nonhuman actors, etc., that assist in shaping our understanding and appreciation of history.

Students interested in presenting at the conference must submit a 250-word (maximum) abstract, and a CV, by November 19, 2021. Acceptance notifications will be sent via e-mail by December 20, 2021. Accepted presenters have until February 4, 2022, to submit completed papers, not to exceed ten pages. Any graduate students interested in participating in a "lightning-style" discussion on topics related to War and Society should express such interest when sending in their abstract. Email all submissions and correspondence to: tamuconference2022@gmail.com.

Awards in recognition of excellence will be presented to the best overall papers. Travel grants will also be awarded on the basis of need and merit.
