Shuttle Bus from the Hilton Chicago to the Palmer House

Your registration includes a free shuttle bus that will circulate between the Hilton Chicago and the Palmer House Hilton during meeting hours. Buses will depart every 20 minutes. Buses will pick up and drop off passengers from the Hilton Chicago’s 8th Street entrance and the Palmer House’s Wabash Avenue entrance. ADA-accessible buses will be available.

Airports

O’Hare International Airport

L Train: For the Hilton Chicago and Blackstone hotels, take the CTA’s Blue Line to Jackson stop. For the Palmer House, take the Blue Line train to the Monroe/Dearborn stop. Blue Line trains are available 24 hours a day. The fare from O’Hare is $5.

Taxis can be found at the lower level curb front (outside of baggage claim) at each terminal. Fares are based on traffic conditions, but an average fare from O’Hare to downtown Chicago is $50. See the airport’s Getting To and From page for more details on taxis, cars, and vans.

Midway International Airport

L Train: For the Hilton Chicago and Blackstone, take the CTA’s Orange Line train to the Roosevelt stop. For the Palmer House, take the Orange Line to the Adams/Wabash stop. The station is connected to the airport via an enclosed walkway. Follow the signs in the airport that read “CTA Trains” or “Trains to City.” The Orange Line train service operates from approximately 4:00 to 4:30 a.m. to approximately 1:00 a.m. every day. The regular CTA L train fare is $2.50.

Taxi stands are located on the lower level curb front of the terminals. Fares are based on traffic conditions, but an average fare from Midway to downtown Chicago is $35–40. Additional transportation options can be found on the airport’s Getting To and From page.

Transportation

Depending on where you are headed in Chicago, there are plenty of L stations near the meeting hotels (transit maps are available here, including a downtown map).

The Monroe and Jackson (Red Line), Washington/Wabash, and Adams/Wabash (Brown, Green, Orange, Pink, and Purple lines), and Monroe (Blue Line) L train stops are within 2 blocks of the Palmer House Hilton.

The closest L train stops to the Hilton Chicago and the Blackstone are Harrison (Red Line), LaSalle/Congress (Blue Line), and Harold Washington Library – State/Van Buren (Brown, Orange, Pink, and Purple lines), ranging from 2 to 6 blocks away.

CTA accepts cash, single-use Ventra tickets ($3 including fare), and reloadable Ventra cards ($5 for a new card) for buses. Only Ventra tickets and cards can be used for L trains. The fare for most riders is $2.50 for L trains and $2.25 for buses. More information can be found here.

Taxi Service

Important note: Every airport warns travelers not to accept solicitations from unlicensed cabs. Cabs can be hailed, or ehailed via the ARRO and CURB apps.

Parking

Hilton Chicago
Self-parking is $72 and valet parking $88.

Palmer House
Self-parking is available at the 55 East Monroe Street garage (across from the hotel) for $57 per night. Valet parking is available at the Monroe Street entrance for $85.

Blackstone
Self-parking is $72 and valet $82 at the hotel’s 99 East Balbo Avenue garage. Please note that there is no overnight attendant Sunday through Thursday. Guests at the Blackstone can also charge overnight parking in the Hilton Chicago garage to their room and receive validation.

There are many other parking garages available in the Loop that are not affiliated with the hotels. Parking can also be reserved in advance through SpotHero.
