A quinquennial prize established by the Taraknath Das Foundation (Columbia Univ.), the Robert Livingston Schuyler Prize recognized the best published work in the field of modern British, British imperial, or British Commonwealth history written by a citizen of the United States. The prize is named in honor of Robert Livingston Schuyler (d. 1966), president of the Association in 1951, a historian of British legal history at Columbia University and a life member of the AHA. The Schuyler Prize was superseded by the Forkosch Prize in 1993.
