The Special Olympics website tells the story of what began as Camp Shriver, a backyard summer camp for people with intellectual disabilities, and became a global movement. The site provides a decade-by-decade history of the institution's evolution and a timeline of salient events supported by short videos and photographs. The resource also includes link to the Get Into It K-12 Program, classroom-based lessons, activities, and videos that extend the story of the Special Olympics.
