The 139th annual meeting of the Association was held January 8–11, 2026, in Chicago, Illinois. More than 1,500 scholars participated in the four-day meeting. In addition, 40 specialized societies and organizations scheduled sessions and events in partnership with the Association. AHA awards and honors were announced on Thursday, January 8, followed by a plenary session. Ben Vinson III delivered the presidential address on Friday, January 9.
