The AHA’s deep dive into the practices of secondary history teachers, American Lesson Plan, was discussed in an interview on the use of PragerU’s materials in the classroom. Education Week’s Sarah Schwartz explained that American Lesson Plan found that teachers strive to share materials from differing perspectives: “They asked a lot of questions of the teachers about what are your priorities in history, education, and how do you see the subject? And the vast, vast majority all said that they try to present issues from multiple perspectives, that they want to teach students how to think, not what to think.” Schwartz also explained that teachers prefer to use resources from government agencies or organizations like PBS, rather than materials they consider to have a political bias, like PragerU.
