American Historical Review Article Wins 2024 Nursing Clio Prize for Best Journal Article

Congratulations to Debra Blumenthal (Univ. of California, Santa Barbara), whose American Historical Review article “‘As [Healthy] Women Should’: Enslaved Women, Medical Experts, and ‘Hidden’ Menstrual Disorders in Late Medieval Mediterranean Slave Markets” was selected as the winner of the 2024 Nursing Clio Prize for Best Journal Article. The article was published in the December 2023 issue of the AHR. The Nursing Clio Prize is awarded annually for the best peer-reviewed academic journal article on the intersection of gender and medical histories in English.
