Congratulations to AHA members Kathleen DuVal (Univ. of North Carolina, Chapel Hill) and James Tejani (California Polytechnic State Univ.), who have been awarded the 2025 Bancroft Prize, “one of the most distinguished honors for scholars of American history.” Duval was awarded the prize for her book, Native Nations: A Millennium in North America (Random House), and Tejani for his book, A Machine to Move Ocean and Earth: The Making of the Port of Los Angeles and America (WW Norton).
