AHA member and 2025 Asher Award recipient Lendol Calder (Augustana Coll.) has been named a finalist for Baylor University’s 2026 Robert Foster Cherry Award, given annually “to honor great teachers, to stimulate discussion in the academy about the value of teaching, and to encourage departments and institutions to value their own great teachers.” As a finalist, Calder will give a series of lectures at Baylor, starting with “Make America Mean Something Again: Rethinking American History in the Age of Trump,” on Monday, October 20, at 4:00 p.m. CT.
