AHA member Darién J. Davis’s forthcoming book, Black Orpheus and the Globalization of Afro-Brazilian Culture, explores the making of the film Black Orpheus in the 1950s and the circulation of Afro-Brazilian popular culture in the long 1960s in France and the United States. The book will be published in December 2025 by Rutgers University Press.
