AHA in the News

On March 28, AHA executive director James Grossman participated in a panel discussion for “’The Past is Never Dead’: U.S. Perspectives on History, Memory, and Current Challenges,” along with Desirée Cormier Smith (former US State Dept.), Margaret Huang (Southern Poverty Law Center), ad Kama B. Pierce (National Center for Civil and Human Rights). The event was part of an ongoing comparative project titled “Building a Critical Memory: Transitioning from Denial to Collective Responsibility in Germany and the United States,” involving around 50 “scholars and teachers, curators and educators from museums and memorial sites, other public historians, people working in foundations and NGOs as well as journalists from both countries.
