In a Boston Globe article exploring Marco Rubio’s tenure as acting national archivist, AHA executive director Sarah Weicksel argued that the Trump Administration is not prioritizing the National Archives to the degree their importance warrants. “This is an institution that deserves support across the federal government,” said Weicksel. “Not only because it preserves the key documents that laid the groundwork for our nation’s existence, but because it’s the institution that preserves the long history of ordinary people as well as the workings of the federal government.”
