The Grambling State University Department of History, which received the AHA’s 2024 Equity Award, was featured in the Lincoln Parish Journal for its achievement. The Equity Award recognizes individuals and institutions who have achieved excellence in recruiting and retaining underrepresented racial and ethnic groups into the historical discipline. “The History Department at Grambling State University employs the study of the past to prepare global citizens for the future,” said Edward Holt, head of the department. “It is humbling to see our efforts and student accomplishments recognized at the national level by the top organization in our field: the AHA.”
