In an NBC News article exploring the recent movement to rehabilitate Richard Nixon’s image tarnished by the Watergate scandal, AHA director of teaching and learning Brendan Gillis offered a perspective reflecting that how we see the past colors how we see the present. “In some ways, the reframing of Watergate seems like an attempt to try and rehabilitate the current president’s image,” said Gillis. “In a lot of ways, it’s about what’s happened the last few years.”
