AHA Council member Jana K. Lipman (Tulane Univ.) has published an article in New Lines magazine arguing that the “use of unlawful imprisonment during the ‘war on terror’ set the stage for the US government’s detentions and deportations today.” Lipman wrote about connections between Guantanamo Bay and immigration enforcement today, particularly through the lens of habeas corpus cases.
