Deep cuts implemented in FY 2011 severely eroded our international education and foreign language infrastructure. A sign-on letter currently circulating in the Senate, led by Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI), calls for continuing to reverse more than a decade of sequestration and helping to restore the programs to their FY 2010 funding levels, adjusted for inflation.

Urge your Senator to sign on to Sen. Schatz’s letter supporting robust funding for the Department of Education’s International Education programs, HEA-Title VI and Fulbright-Hays, in FY 2026! These programs strengthen our nation’s international education infrastructure in areas where the need grows greater by the day. Despite budget restrictions, this funding is crucial for the prosperity and safety of our nation and its citizens.

Take action for international education and reach out to your senators. A customizable letter can be sent through this link from the Coalition for International Education and the National Humanities Alliance.
