Event Description
Wikipedia as Pedagogy: How Students Are Shaping Historical Narratives and Opening Up Access
AHA Online and Wiki Education
Thursday, June 4, 1–2 p.m. ET
In this webinar, faculty will explore how how they are incorporating Wikipedia editing into their pedagogy. The panelists will discuss how and why they’ve adopted the Wikipedia assignment, how this public-facing endeavor has affected their teaching, and how Wikipedia can help students develop a range of critical skills from research to AI-literacy.
Moderated by Helaine Blumenthal (Wiki Education), and featuring Maura Hametz (James Madison Univ.), Allison Marsh (Univ. of South Carolina), and Jasmine Yarish (Univ. of the District of Columbia), this hour-long online event is free and open to the public. To attend, register here. Can’t make it? Sign up anyway and view the recording on the AHA’s YouTube channel after the event.
