Event Description
The American Historical Association (AHA) hosted a Congressional Briefing offering historical perspectives on federal science funding. The briefing will take place on Thursday, December 11, at 9:00 a.m. ET in Rayburn House Office Building Room 2075. Panelists Melinda Baldwin (Univ. of Maryland), Arthur Daemmrich (Arizona State Univ.), and Bhaven Sampat (Johns Hopkins Univ.) discussed the history of the federal government’s approach toward science in public policy, and how the government has supported and funded scientific research and innovation over time. Alexandra Levy (AHA) served as moderator.
