Since the beginning of this year, the United States has arrested the president of Venezuela, imposed a blockade around Cuba, and issued threats to other Latin American nations under the authority of President Trump’s newly proclaimed “Don-roe Doctrine.” This History Behind the Headlines will explore the history of US intervention in Latin America.
Moderated by George Reid Andrews (Univ. of Pittsburgh) and featuring Jurgen Buchenau (Univ. of North Carolina, Charlotte), Lillian Guerra (Univ. of Florida), and Alejandro Velasco (New York Univ.), this hour-long online event is free and open to the public.
