AHA Joins ACLS Associations in Protest of Georgia’s Proposed “Religious Freedom Restoration Act”
In collaboration with several member organizations of the American Council of Learned Societies, the American Historical Association has sent a letter to the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau decrying Georgia’s proposed “Religious Freedom Restoration Act,” which would establish a vendor’s right to refuse goods or services to individuals based on their religion, sexual orientation, marital status, or whatever other factors might emanate from religious doctrine or practice.
The full letter is available under News and Advocacy.
