Join the Committee on Minority Historians for a Brainstorming Session

Debbie Doyle | Nov 22, 2013

The AHA Committee on Minority Historians cordially invites all interested AHA members to a brainstorming session to think through the committee’s mission, the format of its annual mentoring breakfast, and how it can best serve AHA members. The committee was founded in 1990—what has changed in the profession since then? What challenges remain? What are the urgent tasks for the Committee on Minority Historians?

Members of the committee are particularly interested in input from graduate students and early-career historians. How can the committee best address their interests? What kind of annual meeting events would be most useful? A mentoring breakfast? A workshop? A session encouraging quality mentoring?

The discussion will take place at the Committee on Minority Historians Mentoring Breakfast on Friday, January 3, from 7:30–9:00 a.m. in the Coolidge Room of the Marriott Wardman Park.

Because space is limited, advance registration is required. Already registered for the meeting? Call 508-743-0510 to add a ticket to an existing registration. Cost for the continental breakfast: $10 AHA members, $15 nonmembers.

Individuals who wish to participate in the discussion only are invited to arrive at 8:00 a.m.
