From the Executive Director, Perspectives Daily

Readers of the October 27 issue of the New York Times Book Review might have seen the AHA referenced in a colorful story about Arthur Schlesinger Jr. and Nigel Hamilton at an annual meeting. But readers might have inferred that the American Historical Association can “banish” a historian from its ranks at the behest of an influential member. The Times graciously published my response to this allusion. Please note that the AHA welcomes membership on the part of anyone interested in history and historical thinking. We meet in Washington, DC January 2-5, 2014. Come one, come all.
