Applications for the World History Institute Due April 24

AHA Staff | Apr 14, 2015

The Alliance for Learning in World History is hosting a summer program for middle school and high school teachers of general world history this summer: the World History Institute. The institute will be held at the University of Pittsburgh and will run July 13-19, 2015.

Hosted by the World History Center and the University of Pittsburgh School of Education and Global Studies Center, this institute is an excellent opportunity for teachers of world history to obtain training in course conceptualization, student learning skills, pedagogy, content, and resources. Common Core will be included in the program, and modules of Institute curriculum will even have lesson plans embedded within them that can be implemented in your classrooms. The Institute gives special attention to research in world history and how teachers can integrate the ideas gleaned in the field into the classroom with hands-on activities.

Interested applicants should apply online by April 24. Up to six scholarships will be awarded to those most in need. Full details about the institute can be found on the World History Alliance’s website.
