AHA Introduces Jerry Bentley World History Travel Grants

AHA Staff | May 12, 2016

In honor of Jerry Bentley (December 9, 1949–July 15, 2012), a leading scholar of world history, longtime professor at the University of Hawai‘i, and founding editor of the Journal of World History, the AHA is proud to announce the inaugural Jerry Bentley World History Travel Grants. These grants will provide travel support for graduate students who include world history among their major or minor fields of academic study to attend the AHA annual meeting. The AHA is grateful to Carol Mon Lee for her generous contribution establishing this fund, which recognizes Jerry Bentley as a champion of the world history movement and helps support the next generation of world historians. Applications for the 2017 annual meeting in Denver will be accepted after registration opens in September 2016. Graduate students who apply should be members of the Association.
