Grant of the Week: Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library Research Travel Grants

Jacob Ingram | Feb 27, 2015

Every week, AHA Today showcases a new grant, fellowship, or scholarship of interest to historians which has been posted to our free Calendar. We look for grants of potential interest to a wide range of scholars, but we also seek out grants for more specific fields. This week, we are featuring an opportunity open to scholars of presidential and diplomatic history.

The Gerald R. Ford Foundation awards research travel grants of up to $2,000 each in support of research in the archival collections of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library, part of the system of presidential libraries administered by the National Archives and Records Administration. The collections are especially rich on U.S. government domestic policies, diplomacy and national political affairs in the 1970s. A grant helps to defray the travel and living expenses of a research trip to the Library.

Application postmark deadlines are March 15 and September 15 annually.

Any person with a serious interest in the holdings of the Library may apply. Application information can be found at: http://www.fordlibrarymuseum.gov/library/foundationgrants.asp Selection criteria include the scope and pertinence of Library archival collections, project significance, appropriateness of project design, and applicant qualifications. Before you apply, please contact the Library for information about holdings related to your project.

The AHA offers a free calendar advertising awards, meetings, and exhibits. Submit your own announcements to our Calendar.
