Every week, Perspectives Daily showcases a new grant, fellowship, or scholarship that has been posted to our free community calendar. This week we are featuring the The Lincoln Forum Franklin-Medford Scholarship.
Criteria
In 2021, a Lincoln Forum member generously created a scholarship to encourage diversity at the Forum's annual symposium. Named in honor of the great historians John Hope Franklin and Edna Greene Medford, the scholarship is open to students of color who are full-time undergraduates or graduate students. One student enrolled at a college or university in the United States will be selected to attend the annual meeting of the Lincoln Forum, held in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, each November. Applicants must submit a letter (2–3 pages) outlining the student’s interest in Abraham Lincoln and why he or she would like to attend the Lincoln Forum meeting, and a letter of recommendation from an applicant’s professor.
Amount
The scholarship covers the cost of registration for the symposium, three nights lodging and group meals at the Wyndham Hotel in Gettysburg, and travel reimbursement for the student.
End: September 15, 2022
