Bring Your Graduate Students to the Women’s Breakfast—Discounted Tickets Available!

Debbie Doyle | Dec 10, 2012

For nearly 40 years, the AHA’s Committee on Women Historians (CWH) has sponsored an annual networking breakfast for women historians and anyone with an interest in gender history.

The committee encourages graduate advisors to bring their students to the meeting and introduce them to their future colleagues. To facilitate student participation, we are offering deeply discounted breakfast tickets for graduate student members of the AHA. If you have a student who will be attending the annual meeting, why not offer to cover the price of their ticket?

Of course, graduate students are, welcome to attend the breakfast even if their advisors do not attend. The CWH is committed to welcoming junior members of the profession. Join us and build your network!

AHA student members can register for the breakfast for $15. Students who are not members of the AHA can register for $30. Regular registration is $35 for AHA members and $45 for nonmembers. (Attendees who have already registered can add a ticket to an existing registration by calling 508-743-0510.)

The breakfast is cosponsored by the Coordinating Council for Women in History. Atina Grossman (Cooper Union) will deliver an address entitled “Too Emotional? Or Queering the Genres? Mixing Family and Straight History.” The breakfast is scheduled from 7:30–9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, in La Galerie 3 of the New Orleans Marriott.
