AHA Staff | Aug 24, 2007

HASTAC (Humanities, Arts, Sciences, and Technology Advanced Collaboratory) and the MacArthur Foundation have teamed up to create the Digital Media and Learning Competition, which will award $2 million in funds to “to support pioneers who use new technologies to envision the future of learning.”

The competition is divided into Innovation Awards, for developers of new digital modes of learning, and Knowledge-Networking Awards, for creative and dedicated communicators. Eight Innovation Awards will be handed out, providing recipients with $100,000 or $250,000 depending on their project. Meanwhile, the twelve Knowledge-Networking Awards available will begin at $30,000 with a maximum of $75,000 in funds. Applications for either award are due October 15, 2007. See the Innovation Award sample projects and the Knowledge-Networking sample projects for a better idea of what this competition is looking for.
