AHA Annual Meeting
Opening an Invitation to Historical Thinking
Each year, the AHA participates in the civic life of the city that hosts our annual meeting. In addition to offering insightful tours and special sessions on local issues, we open our plenary session—the event focused on the broadest public issues—to the entire community. In Denver, the AHA has partnered with Colorado Humanities and History Colorado to expand the audience for our plenary session, “The First Hundred Days: Priorities for a New US President.” This relationship continues the model developed at the 2016 annual meeting in Atlanta, where the AHA partnered with Georgia Humanities to invite the public to the plenary, focused on the meaning, use, and implications of Confederate symbolism. This year the AHA is also offering a special discount on registration to facilitate annual meeting attendance by members of Colorado Humanities and History Colorado. We look forward to bringing a new audience with new perspectives to the meeting.
